If you send email campaigns frequently or have large subscriber lists, monthly billing is the most cost effective option.
You can see exactly what you'll pay as sending increases, by referring to our tiered pricing. We also move you between tiers automatically when sending increases or decreases, so you – or your users – will never pay for more than needed.
Monthly plans
You can choose between two monthly plans:
Basic plans:
- are the cheapest monthly billing option
- include a generous send limit, which is the number of individual emails that can be sent monthly
Unlimited plans:
- allow users to send as many emails as needed each month
Switching plans
Your account administrator can switch your user account between basic and unlimited at any time by going to Marketing > Email Marketing > Users.
Switching from basic to unlimited requires the difference between the two plans to be paid on the spot. After that, unlimited sending kicks in immediately.
If the switch is from unlimited to basic, the user stays on the unlimited plan for the remainder of the billing period. The basic plan, at the lower rate, starts from the next billing period.
How the monthly rate is determined
The monthly rate for each user is determined by the number of active subscribers across all of the user's lists at the time a bill is due. Inactive subscribers include anyone who is unsubscribed, bounced, unconfirmed or deleted.
For example:
If a user has five lists with 8,000 active subscribers on each list, they will be billed based on a total of 40,000 subscribers (8,000 subscribers x five lists = 40,000).
If the subscriber lists grow or the number of emails sent exceeds the plan’s sending limit, the monthly rate moves up a tier. If the subscriber lists decrease, so could the monthly rate.
Note: If the same subscriber appears on two different lists, it is counted twice in the total. So it's best to avoid duplicate lists.
Calculating a user's monthly rate
This is simple. Just look up how many active subscribers you, or your user, has and refer to our pricing page to compare the cost of basic versus unlimited plans.
For example, if a user has 0 to 500 active subscribers, the user is in the first pricing tier. That's $11 per-month on the basic plan (with a send limit of 2,500 emails) or $35 per-month for the unlimited plan.
Where to find the active subscriber total
Go to Marketing > Email Marketing > Lists. At the bottom-right of the subscriber list table, you'll find the active subscriber total:
